50: The average menopause in the us is 51.3 years old and is associated with an elevated fsh level.  80% of women have associated symptoms like hot flashes, vaginal dryness, fatigue, insomnia, etc.  Interesting, 20% of women have no symptoms.  You may want to discuss the pros and cons of hormone replacement therapy (hrt) with you gyn.  Good luck.

Might: You can try it. Vitamin e is an antioxidant that does have other benefits and is known to decrease breast tenderness in women with fibrocystic breast tissue.  If you take vitamin e and your periods get better, it was worth the try.
