There are a number of psychiatric side effects including psychosis, suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, hallucinations and confusion.  With so many psychiatric side effects one might interpret a person becoming euphoric.  Recent evidence suggests it is not as effective as previously reported.

It is rarely helpful: There are some theoretical reasons why it can help and anecdotal evidence for its utilization although amantadine is a relatively challenging medicine to both tolerate as a patient and dose as a clinician so it requires a lot of fine tuning to be a useful intervention. I would talk with your prescribing doctor about how it makes you feel and i hope it could be a useful treatment approach for you!
