No: Currently the only safe blood thinners for pregnancy use, for a history of a pe,  is injectable.

Clotting hx ?'s: Pregnancy with a history of clotting is treated usually with Lovenox or heparin for effective reduction of clotting incidence. Both medications are effective , with minimal complications and dependable effectiveness.  Increased clotting in pregnancy is b/c of increased agents produced during pregnancy, and treatment may prevent significant negative effects for the fetus.

Blood thiner: Levenox or enoxaparin is a low molecular weight Heparin  used same as Heparin , is derived from pigs intestine , used for prophylaxis for thrombo-embolism, for pulmonary embolism, coronary heart diseases.

No: Lovenox (enoxaparin) is a low molecular weight Heparin (lmwh).  Unfractionated Heparin (UFH) and all other lmwhs must be injected to be effective.  There are, however, multiple other anticoagulant oral meds that might be used depending upon the reason you need anticoagulation.  They have some trade offs in   cost and complexity, however.

Yes : Ginger has some "blood thinning" effects, but very unlikely to be clinically significant (lead to bleeding) when consumed as part of a normal diet. The high potency supplements may be associated with a bleeding risk, but not statistically proven. For patient's on Lovenox (enoxaparin) & heparin, ginger may be consumed as part of a normal diet. Not a good idea: The combination can lead to serious bleedeing and should be avoided.

Accepted Answer

You can eat greens: While on Lovenox (enoxaparin) you can eat as is your usual diet.  Contrary to warfarin, Lovenox (enoxaparin) is not affected by eating food that is rich in vitamin K.  Although you can eat greens with warfarin as well, management of therapeutic target is difficult, because of fluctuation in peoples intake of vitamin K rich foods.

Accepted Answer

Nothing in particula: You will not require a special diet while taking enoxaparin injections. If you for some reason take large amounts of herbal supplements, some can affect the ability of your blood to clot, but most people do not consume significant amounts of garlic, gensing, or gingko.
