No: Treatment for bladder cancer depends on the grade and stage of disease.  Low grade, low stage disease is best treated with endoscopic resection of the tumor and close follow up to look for recurrence.  There are medicines that can be placed in the bladder to prevent recurrence.  In general, a diet rich in antioxidants, fresh fruit and vegetables is all a good way to remain healthy.

No, not really: Alternative medicines, if suggested by someone are not likely to be useful. Chemotherapy is the only choice for controlling advanced ovarian cancer. If there are concerns about side effects, they can be controlled and managed by your oncologist. So do not hesitate taking chemotherapy. It would do  some and often much good for the patient.

Alternative medicines is a very broad term often used by folks who refuse to take standard/established, useful treatments. This can be a big mistake and is often a gamble, to be avoided.

Not really: Most of the treatments offered have failed to  produce a persistent  tumor response.  This included meds from plants like mistletoe still used  in England for metastatic breast cancer.  The one that  had shown some validity was Rivicci's preparation containing Selenium.  It has  been shown that certain metals can suppress tumors such as Platinum .  Selenium has also  been shown to be antitumor.

Do I understand?: You are asking about plants that have anti-cancer properties. The ones that actually help control / kill of the cancer (taxol, vinca) are now part of the mainstream pharmacoupia. I'm probably not the only person on healthtap that's optimistic about medical marijuana for the side-effects of chemotherapy and for palliation. The other botanicals aren't miracle cures. The standard of care therapy for best chance of cure for stage i and ii lung cancer is surgery, with a role for chemotherapy for stages ii-iv and radiation for stage iii and possibly IV (as standard of care). No: The treatment is surgery. There are no known treatments using supplements or diet and delay can increase risk of cancer spread.  The best treatment is thyroidectomy by a high volume expert surgeon.  Steve jobs of apple tried unproven therapies when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer instead of having surgery before his cancer spread.

Focusing on: Comfort measures (palliation) now moves to the front of the line even during curative treatment: anti-emetics, pain control. The most daunting is fatigue, and no vitamins do not help.  But palliative involvement as full team member helps futile use of 'anti-cancer' thrusts when there are little chances of benefit. Some  also well need to define appetite measure and use of canabinoids.
