Mgt: There are many possible causes for her symptoms, but most are self limited infections. If she has a sore throat, or persistent cough/ fever she should see her PCP to determine if she needs antibiotics.

No: Use some over the counter analgesics such as tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin if you are not allergic to either and you can also use throat spray.

Need more info: Elevated amylase levels are usually due to inflammation of the pancreas which is generally associated with considerable pain. What is you amylase level? How long has been elevated? What other symptoms do you have? Do you drink alcohol? Do you have gall stones? It would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation.
