can severe allergy cause eye and nasal pain and feeling of nystagmus?

Accepted Answer

Probably not pain: Allergic diseases do not usually cause eye pain although nasal pain is possible if severe. Dry eyes often cause eye pain but would not have caused nasal problem.  See an eye doctor to make sure you don't have glaucoma which may cause blindness if not promptly treated.

ive been waking up with eye crust in the corner of my eyes that is the color white and i wanted to know if it was just from allergies or was i just from eye pain or what else would it come from to happen?

Eye pain: IF there eye pain, please see a physician. The small amount of crusty discharge may be caused by local irritation, allergies ( usually both eyes ), but if the amount increases, antibiotic eye drops are indicated. Rinse eyes gently with saline solution and watch for redness and eye pain.

i was rubbing my eye due to allergies. i think i rubbed it too hard. now i have eye pain slightly and a cluster of red veins on the inner part of my eye. what can i do to treat this.

Drops: Artificial tears and possibly allergy medication if that is the cause

Blepharitis?: Inflammation of inner lining of eyelids can cause irritation of the eyeball, leading to redness. It can also cause the eyelashes to be redirected toward the eye so that they enter the field of vision. Your symptoms are suggestive of blepharitis. You should ask about this. Make sure you see an ophthalmologist (someone who treats eye disease), not just an optometrist (who just prescribes lenses).

? Normal finidings: You should keep in contact with your ophthalmologic  retinal specialist in that symptoms could indicate serious retinal problems. Changes in symptoms may reflect advancing pathology.

No: Unless there is redness and itching in both eyes it is unlikely to be an allergy. Pain on eye motion is not an allergy. Have the eye evaluated.

Allergies: Sounds like allergies, but for a proper diagnosis you need to see a doctor to get examined. They may be related to a cold also.

Poss foreign body: Hurting to blink suggests a speck of dust is under the upper eyelid. If you can gently pull the upper lid from the globe, and irrigate with eyewash or saline, you might dislodge the offending particle. If copious irrigation is unsuccessful, an ophthalmologist should be able to assess the situation with anesthetic drops. Antibiotic drops are a better choice than the allergy drops; Ibuprofen is okay.
