: You should be at low risk for having an allergic reaction to amoxicillin. There may be an increased risk of allergy to amoxicillin with a history of penicillin allergy due to chemical similarities. People with seasonal allergies and asthma might have a slightly increased risk of allergy in general, but anaphylaxis would be very unlikely

i'm terrified of abx due to many allergic reactions. i took 500 mg of amoxicillin for uti. could that have been enough? no leukocytes in urine now.

Yes: Since there are no leukocytes in urine, you have no uti.  Either you had no uti, or if you had it, you got cured. A mild simple cystitis (uti ) could get cured with one dose of antibiotics although is not the norm.

: 5 to 10 percent of people are allergic to Amoxicillin (which is a type of penicillin) People with allergies like asthma, urticaria and hay fever, are highly prone to develop medication allergies. Reactions can include rashes, hives, and anaphylaxis. If you are a highly allergic person, make sure you have benadryl or an epipen handy for any tongue swelling or difficulty breathing.

Yes: This usually happens with the initial sensitization which may take about 10 days to manifest. The reaction from subsequent exposure will likely be much faster.

Depends: Some allergic reactions like a simple rash are more cosmetic than worrisome and not as important as major hives or swelling of lips and difficulty breathing. The more intense the reaction the more important it is to avoid the trigger group. If a cillin med were the best choice in a major infection, an allergist could do some specialized work to desensitize the patient and make use safe.

Delayed: Delayed reactions, mostly rashes can occur in a few days.

Depends on reaction: Amoxicillin is a type of penicilin
if you have allergic reaction like rash , itching, hives and unexpected swelling of face, lips, tongue.Headaches
take 50 mgm of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and it can be repeated every 4 hours and see your doctor asap.Severe reaction may need short corse of corticosteroids
diarrhea and abdominal pain are not due to allergy.
