we went to er for severe allergic reaction.  thought it was from antibiotics, but now wondering if it might have been from a single dose of flonase?

Prob&#x27;ly not Flonase: Allergic reactions are rare to corticosteroids like Flonase; indeed, corticosteroids are among the main drugs to treat allergic reactions. One of your antibiotics is a far more likely explanation than Flonase. However, if your allergic reaction was primarily a breathing problem or upper respiratory blockage, check back with the ER and make sure they took the Flonase into account.

can flonase cause a red throat? i have been using it for 3-4 months now. i have no other side effects, just a red throat with white lines and doesn't hurt. the pharmacist said that could very well be an allergic reaction or candida?

: More likely it is candida than allergy. If it  is in your throat you should gargle with an aniseptic mouthwash like listerine. If it doesnt go away then see your doctor.

Daily: Nasal steroids like Flonase have to be used daily to work well.  If you use them sporadically, you're just rinsing out your nose with really expensive water.

: Beconase (Beclomethasone dipropionate) or Nasarel (Flunisolide) nasal spray.

i currently take allergy shots every 2 weeks, flonase, and singular for allergies but still find need to take daily allergy meds otc. any suggestions?

Allergy Issues: Clean up your environment . Bedding encasements, certified hepa vacuums, close windows, pets banned from bedroom, use non-dusty cat litter, never sweep, avoid all fabric softeners and scented products, check your vents and make sure all pertinent allergens are in your shots. Try different nasal spray brands. Check for sinus infections and gerd  that are easily missed but can cause similar symptoms.

i suffer from allergies all year long. i was getting shots weekly, taking otc medicines, flonase. and nothing has worked. i am constantly sniffling but at night when i lie on my back the sniffling is worse. even when i prop up the pillow. i need help?

Specialist: You need the help of a specialist in allergy.  They can determine what you are allegic to and help remove the reaction.

: Flonase is an OTC steroid spray used for relieving allergic rhinitis (nasal) symptoms. It is not indicated for eye allergies, but in theory it could help a little, but there are better drugs for eye allergies.

See ENT/allergist: You may be more sensitive to allergens than others or the combinations of medications you are using is not the right selection for you.  Worst case scenario is that your perceived allergy symptoms may be something else entirely.  You may need to see a specialist for skin testing (and blood work) to various allergens in order to achieve a better management plan.
