ive been using band aid adhesive tape. it has left red irritation where they were. its been there for few days now. is there anything i could put on it ? i have thin elastic skin from ehlers-danlos syndrome. i always have trouble with adhesives?

Caution: You might try a very thin layer of over the counter 1/2 % hydrocortizone cream twice a day. It is good for such irritation but overuse can thin the skin some.

No, not latex : Common reaction to adhesives. When you need an EKG, ask your doctor for a steroid cream to put on the sites of the electrodes right after they're removed to limit the development of rash.

Trial and error: Not all adhesives used in tape or dressings are the same.  The plastic covering over the wound vac acts as a water and air tight barrier to allow the vacuum to wick away fluids and bring the wound edges together.  You should try it and see what reactions you may encounter.

Tape: You are likely allergic to the glue used on the band aid, hence the rectangular shape.  Applying hydrocortisone without the tape on the rash will likely do the trick.

Twice: Twice a day is adequate.  And any time the bandaid becomes dirty, water-logged or saturated with blood / drainage from the wound.
