Estrogen: Alesse is a combination pill, and your symptoms sound like estrogen excess-related side effects. The fact that you get better in placebo days means that you need a different BCP, possibly a mini pull with only a progestin. See your OB for a switch !

Should be okay: I love alesse, it's a great birth control.  I like loestrin too, but i like Alesse better.  I dont' think you'll have any side effects with alesse.  It's definitely worth the switch.

Similar to others: All birth control pills carry similar side effects. These include nausea, breast tenderness, change in menses and other side effects common to all medications. Rare side effects include blood clots which can lead to stroke, deep venous thrombosis and heart attacks.

Should be fine: Plan b is nothing more than a higher dose of the pill.  If you don't have any trouble with plan b, you should be fine taking the pill.

See a Provider: We are lucky that there are so many oral contraceptives to choose from. There are ones that give light flows, and reduced frequency of flows.  Since you have so many options, you should spend some time exploring them with your provider. Low dose pills are popular and can protect you against cysts, cancer and of course , unwanted pregnancy and painful periods.

See below: Fortunately, Levetiracetam is not metabolized through the liver, and is unlikely to interact with your ocp's.  So far, there is very little to suggest long-term chronic issues on your med, and so i find no reason to have concerns regarding your future.

No difference: Alesse is the trade name & Aviane is the generic formulation. Both contain Levonorgestrel & ethinyl Estradiol and have active hormone on the first 21 days followed by 7 days of inert pills. Pick the cheaper one, same medicine.

how do i know when will alesse 21 become 99% effective for me?

If taken properly: After the 1st month i personally rec a 24-4 pill like lo-estrin or a 24-2-2 pill like loloestrin , the pills i mentioned will give u light periods , little cramping and less chance for ovarian cyst formation than alesse.
