Rubbing or isopropyl: If you breath a lot of these fumes they can be a severe irritant and cause nosebleeds. Isopropyl alcohol fumes can be absorbed into the lung membrane and result in brain and nerve damage. Common symptoms of nerve damage include dizziness and numbness. Less severe symptoms include nausea and headaches. When inhaled briefly or sniffed in a robust fashion, you may experience a quick headache.

Not bad: We use rubbing alcohol in the hospital all the time in the form of prep pads prior to IV"s and injections. With the open windows, "no harm, no foul".

ETG: Very rarely topical  use of alcohol can cause elevated ETG ,  but it has to be ethanol not other  types of alcohol and usually isopropyl is used in nail salons  but would check

hello, for the last few years i've been dusting/cleaning my room every week with 99% rubbing alcohol. i stay in the room despite the fumes. i also use it as a body cleaner at times if i get dirty. has either use damaged my brain or internal organs?

: No!  You have to imbibe the alcohol for it to have an internal effect. I think soap and water are a btter skin cleaner unless you have some oil bound or alcohol solublestain on the skin.  Alcohol tends to remove the skin oils and make make it dry and itchy.

Ignore it: The chances that baby had any significant exposure are next to zero. I wouldn't loose sleep over this issue. Just avoid drinking yourself.

: Inhalants may cause change in mood and temporary memory changes. The use of the bandana should be replaced with a more efficient N95 or occupational mask. Avoid inhalation of chemicals.  Stay well hydrated and open windows while working. If the symptoms continue, please see acute care.
