Low Oxygen: Still not getting adequate oxygenation.  The reasons can be many, it would also depend on your age, other underlying medical problems and issues.   Anything less than 92% should generally be evaluated further.

i use albuterol & ipratropium bromide in my nebulizer and i used it this morning 1 1/2 later i started coughing awful. my inhaler stopped it. reason?

MDIs spacer: An inhaler with a spacer device is an effective and efficient way to deliver aerosolized asthma medications.
The nebulizer may be used, but sometimes the medication delivery can be sub optimal.

YES: Bronchiolitis  common below 2 years old caused by RSV sx  wheezing, tachypnea, sometimes with subcostal retractions responds to nebulizer with proventil (albuterol) sol  due to moist  vapor and bronchodilation. Babies with several attacks become asthmatic later on.

Rescue/maintenance: Albuterol is a rescue medication (unless used before exertion) and it's frequency of use dictates the status of ones airways.  Ideally albuterol should be used rarely if at all but that is not always the case.
Advair is a daily maintenance medication.  It's use should in theory reduce or eliminate the need for the use of a rescue medication (eg albuterol).  If both are needed albuterol is first.

i have asthma and copd, i use a nebulizer for treatment along with the albuterol sulfate solution. is there a better solution to use to help me?

Yes: You probably have smoke-damaged lungs. Albuterol works well for asthma, but atrovent may be better for the copd. Inhaled steroids like dulera, symbicort, (budesonide and formoterol) and advair are good maintenance inhalers for asthma/copd. Of course, if your lungs are in this shape at 36yo, you have to quit smoking! you don't want to continue to throw gasoline on your fire!

6 yo has bronchitis. just gave him albuterol in nebulizer and his cough is really bad after treatment . it sounds productive though. is this normal?

It is normal to: cough more right after a nebulization treatment. The medication loosens up the mucous in the airway passages. However, if he is wheezing more or having difficulty breathing, or he seems to need a treatment in less than 2 hours, you should call his pediatrician. He may need to be re-checked and/or his medications adjusted.

if my 4 year old had albuterol nebulizer treatment an hour ago, can i still give him his prescription hydroxyzine 10mg/5ml for postnasaldrip cough now?

Salt water nose drop: Hydroxazine has a drying effect and could dry the secretions in your childs chest counteracting the effect of the albuterol. Therefore, i would use saline nose drops for his nose.

3mo baby w/rsv. cough is resolving but stuffy nose sounds worse. albuterol-nebulizer treatment plus saline solution atomizer.  what can i do?

Saline: You can add some normal saline infant nose drops with a bulb syringe to clear her nostrils. I am glad to hear the cough and lower respiratory issues are decreasing, she is on the road to recovery. Also, give her extra fluids, pedialyte.
