Depends: It depends on what your problem might be. If you are not scared of flying, you may not take anything. Food and drinks will be provided while on board. If you can sleep well w/out using any supports (neck, back, etc.), then you are ready to fly. If you are traveling in business or first class, you will have plenty of amenities available to you for an enjoyable travel.

I'll say no...: Air travel remains one of the safest ways to get around. At the spry age of 60 you should be fine! remember to be mindful of hydration, get up and walk briefly around every hour or two while awake, and don't start your trip already exhausted, as many do. Travel well!

Can be: It depends entirely on the surgery. If the surgery was an ENT procedure, then pressure on the ears or sinuses could be a problem. If there are complications  such as infection or bleeding from any surgery, then also yes. Fatigue, stress, dehydration, and jet lag can all affect how you feel but many post-op patients can fly without serious problems. Ask the surgeon for advice.

Alternatively, ssris and other antidepressants can reduce generalized anxiety and panic attacks, and benzodiazapine like Ativan (lorazepam) and valium can help with infrequent phobias like flying.
