i have gurgles that feel like air bubbles popping constantly on my left side and gas. i have crohns. dr prescribed flagyl but gurgles are back.  help!?

Accepted Answer

Evaluation needed: Many times with crohns this represents a high grade partial bowel obstruction which needs evaluation.  Initial work up would include a ct scan of the abdomen and pelvis with PO and IV contrasts and a colonoscopy.  Hope this helps.

last few months ive had this lump on the lower right side of my abdomen. its painless but when i push on it a feel lots of air bubbles popping. could it just be gas? i have it every day. ive had ultrasounds and x-rays but it showed nothing?

: It’s not possible to feel gas by touching the admin, but the cause of your symptoms is not clear just based on your description. If your doctor is still unable to determine what is going on despite scans and x-rays, you may want to consider a second opinion. It certainly should be in person, so that the doctor can actually feel your abdomen. Good luck.

Yes most likely : as long as there is no pain this is likely a normal part of pregnancy , see your ob/gyn if it gets worse

: This is NOT “residual” chickenpox- rash from varicella usually gone 1-2 wks.

: That air could have entered your vagina from exercising or because of weak pelvic floor muscles.   A fistula is unlikely unless you have inflammation of the colorectal region.  A rectopelvic examination by your gynecologist would be worthwhile.

Time: Your body will absorb any air bubbles contained within.  Most air in the body (in the wrong places) is from tissue breakdown with air entry through an opening which can be enhanced for instance by coughing or sneezing.  Don't inject air anywhere into your body. Air is used by eye surgeons for retinal problems; the air spontaneously gets absorbed.

By stopping: If you see air bubbles IV must be stopped  should not allow , discord  when free of bubbles reinsert IV and prevent air embolism.

Absolutely, yes: Vaginal 'farts" are very common as air gets trapped or sucked into the vagina during strenuous exercise, movement, or intercourse. It can be "embarrassing" as you don't always realize its' "coming out" when it does, but it is an expellation that may be noisy, but odorless. (smile)
