Minor discomfort: Rubber band ligation is a procedure in which the hemorrhoid is tied off at its base with rubber bands, cutting off the blood flow to the hemorrhoid.  Pain is likely for 24 to 48 hours after rubber band ligation. You may use acetaminophen (for example, Tylenol) and sit in a shallow tub of warm water (sitz bath) for 15 minutes at a time to relieve discomfort.

3weeks: Depending on the size of the internal hemorrhoid treated with rbl it would take from 1 to 3 weeks for the subsequent ulcer created  to completely heal.

Rectal bleeding: need to get checked by the surgeon if the bleeding is persistent.  you shouldn't be bleeding

Permanently: Hemorrhoids are varicose veins, usually caused by excessive straining due to constipation.  The key is to not get constipated.  Stay regular, with several easy bowel movements each day.  To accomplish this, you need lots of fiber, fluids, and perhaps bowel stimulants like magnesium and prunes.  Take enough of each of these substances to stay regular.

Hemorrhoid banding: It depends on how many hemorrhoids you have and how large they are.  Often you will need several treatments to achieve good results

Couple weeks: even though tissue and the band fall off with in 48 hrs or so, the results may take couple weeks to show.  Also, most doctors will not do all hemorrhoids at once- too dangerous, so may need to repeat the procedure couple of times as well.
