What do you have?: Bleeding as you describe may be due to a local process like an anal fissure, can reflect colitis, or may be a harbinger of a post-polypectomy bleed. Consider your age, risk factors, underlying medical conditions, drugs you've taken (particularly blood thinners, anticoagulants, nsaid's, aspirin). But, post-procedure bleeding warrants urgent medical attention--call your doctor now +/- proceed to ER.

Might need more time: Drink a full glass of water every hour. Wait a little longer.  If still not working, contact your doctor for instructions.

When was it: Remember that you emptied you entire colon in preparatio for the colonoscopy. You should have a bowel movement 24-48 hours after procedure. Check with the physician who performed the study.

I think you're: probably ok, especially if you aren't having any other symptoms, i.e. pain or fever. You imply you have a slow transit time in the colon anyway, so I think you can watch and wait another day or two. If it goes much longer than that, I would have a conversation, at a minimum, with your doctor. Good on you...getting your colonoscopy:)

colonoscopy. golytely only caused one good bowel movement for me. i am now popping clear. literally 30 minutes later. i have history of obstruction and appear bloated. does this mean it didnt work?

: If your stool is clear, then you are probably all set for your colonoscopy. If you are concerned, call your doctor. Perhaps you didn’t eat much in the couple of days before your prep so it didn’t take much to get your stool clear. Hope your test goes well!! Good luck!!
