Many Causes: Many things things might cause a 12-year-old child to have nightmares about her family dying.  Violent television programs depicting death, violent video games, the evening news reporting the death of a family, or a story heard at school could be the cause. Reassure her that her family is well and get her to talk about her fears.  When we talk about our fears they often diminish and vanish.

Throat: Almost certainly GERD, acid or non-acid reflux. look on web for treatment measures. Prilosec twice a day. limit alcohol, caffeine, lose weight etc. See ENT of evaluation. possible multichannel dual pH probe testing, esophagram

NO reason to worry:: Brugada syndrome(BS) is rare. It is 9 times more frequent in males and very much more common in Asians. There is a distinction between BS and a Brugada EKG Pattern(BEKG). The BS patient has had a history of cardiac arrest or syncope or other high risk factors. BEKG type 1 pattern is higher risk. Type 1 EKG is present in approximately 12 out of 1000 people in Japan.

Release phenomena: As we relax/let go, we can suddenly become fearful or go on high alert because of letting our guard down.  Fear of dying is the ultimate letting go of control and control of the uncontrollable is at the root of panic attacks. Yes: Incredibly rare.  I don't even think I've ever heard of a case that wasn't associated with alcohol or drug abuse.
