No known Ca risk: Human adenovirus type 14  is one of many different types of adenovirus. The hadv-b14p1 strain sometimes causes more severe illness vs other adenoviruses. However, infections with this strain are not common & most illnesses are not serious. Severe illness or death from hadv-b14p1 infections is rare. Typical symptoms are like those of many common infections, including flu. Cancer is not a known risk.

Unlikely: This aggressive new adenovirus may turn out to hang on in tonsil lymphocytes like some of the others, but i doubt it will turn out to be any more of a cancer-causer than its most familiar kin. Despite  "pop" wisdom, viral pathogenesis doesn't seem to be a factor in most of the common cancers apart from hpv causing cervix cancer.

Tricky adenoviruses: There are many different adenoviruses -in fact, there's probably more than 50 distinct serotypes-which means they can cause a wide range of illnesses, from mild respiratory infections (i.e. the cold), conjunctivitis, gastroenteritis, and even meningitis among other problems! Mostly though I would say a 'few days' - you can monitor symptoms for that -since it's spread by coughing, sneezing etc
