Confusing: Nyquil is designed to be taken and night and not to keep you awake.  There are available similar preparations to take during the day which are calibrated not to cause drowsiness.  Most pharmacists can help you choose an appropriate medication for your needs.

Although the: Tendency is for most people to feel sleepy with nyguil - some  people have a paradoxic reaction and have trouble sleepiing as well as excitability.

can't sleep very well without taken heavy duty sleep aid muscle relaxer or nyquil.  and even when i do take the meds i still feel sleepy no matter what time of day i  go bed and get really bad coughing where i can't catch my breath and almost vomits?

Assessing sleep: Taking muscle relaxants or NyQuil is not going to help you to get quality/natural sleep. I would suggest talking to your physician about getting a sleep study to try to determine what is causing your sleep difficulties. You noted that you are on Prilosec; reflux can interfere with sleep quality at times too, so you might speak to your doctor about evaluating that aspect as well.

Not safe: I do not suggest taking these drugs together. Benadryl is an antihistamine. The Doxylamine succinate in NyQuil Severe is also an antihistamine. NyQuil Severe delivers maximum symptom-fighting ingredients and so taking another similar drug is too much and could accentuate possible side effects. I also suggest an routine exam at a medical clinic for your condition.

can i take nyquil with either gabapentin or cyclobenzaprine before going to sleep? i have no plans tomorrow that drowsiness will effect.

It's ok.: Only take as recommended and nothing more. You should expect that tomorrow you will have excess daytime drowsiness.

Doctor can evaluate: "Trouble breathing" means one needs to see a doctor because it can be many things, such as an allergic reaction, a heart problem, pneumonia, etc...  Trouble breathing can also be due to asthma-type symptoms if the person is prone to getting such problems with any cold, flu, allergy, or strep symptoms. If one is worried about a drug overdose combined with trouble breathing, 911 and the ER can help.

Sleepy moods: I wouldn't say this is from exercising too much, unless a person's nutrition is poor.  I'd like to look for other things like anemia or thyroid dysfunction.  I would also screen for symptoms of depression.

Find out why: If you are sleepy despite good rest, you have to find out why. If you snore, it may be sleep apnea (stopping breathing in sleep). Narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia start early in life and cause sleepiness. Several medicines, depression, not enough time in bed, poor sleep, can all cause sleepiness. A sleep disorders center accredited by the american academy of sleep medicine can help.
