Dystonia: You need to consult a Neurologist for further clarification of your diagnosis. It is an inherited condition involving a  part of the brain called Cerebellum : responsible for movements.  As for Inherited Dystonia it is  usually   associated with higher Intelligence.  Best of luck.

? psychogenic ?: Torsion dystonia is a muscle disorder that can occur from many different causes.  It can occur in degenerative disorders such as parkinsonism, huntington disease, wilsons, etc.  It can occur due to medication effects especially major tranquilizers.  It can be just a episodic event in some your people without definable cause.  It can be either the cause for or the result of emotional stress.

Depends: Depending on the type of dystonia it can be made worse either by drugs that block Dopamine  (e.g., neuroleptic medications such as haloperidol, risperidone, etc.) and certain antinausea medications (e.g., metoclopramide, etc) or drugs that enhance the effect of Dopamine such as levodopa.

No cure: there is no cure for dystonia.  Depending upon the location and extent of the dystonia, oral medications or injections of Botox can be beneficial. usually Botox is much more effective treatment for dystonia and other medications. Best to check with her doctor.

Dystonia overnight: Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder, in which sustained muscle contractions cause twisting and repetitive movements or abnormal postures. So be careful how you are coming with that diagnosis as it requires to be observed by a trained physician such as a neurologist, psychiatrist or neurosurgeon. So its important that you identifiy the actual muscle spasm because other things can miimic.

Dystonia definition: Dystonia refers to a neurologic condition consisting of involuntary movements of the body due to abnormally prolonged and inappropriate muscle activity.  Dyskinesia refers to involuntary movements but can encompass a larger range of movements including tremor, dystonia or chorea.  The term "dyskinesias" is used in the setting of parkinson's disease and with chronic antipsychotic use (tardive).
