Forget pop remedies: Benzoyl peroxide for starters. If not sufficient, topical Clindamycin and/or a topical retinoic acid derivative the latter especially if there are a lot of blackheads. Next step for a lady is the oral contraceptive pill if it is right for her. Then a systemic antibiotic right for the person. The big guns is accutae, not pleasant cheap or without risks but hugely effective and very much worth it.

Keratosis Pilaris: You likely have Keratosis Pilaris, which is keratin build up which covers the fine vellus hair follicles that most people have on their arms, and blocks the hairs from erupting properly. The skin then gets rough or irritated. The simplest way to control it is to use a loofa-type body buff whenever you shower.  Don't rub it too hard, but with regular buffing it may improve.

ACNE IN SPA: Spas are not the best place to get any kind of medical treatment. Microdermabrasion, acne cleanings and superficial peels are all good therapies for your described condition, but they are best delivered by an aesthetician in a dermatologist's office.

Yes: The first or primary lesion in acne is a clogged pore or blackhead/whitehead.  This becomes inflammed and infected for many people.  Treatment depends  upon whether the pore is inflammed or not.

Worth a try: If you have a more severe form of acne like cystic or nodular it probably won't work for you, if not, Pro-Active is worth a try.  It is reasonably priced and if you shop around on line you can find some of their sets for a deal.  Give it some time, about a month or so to work.  If you don't see any improvement you may need to see a dermatologist.

One of the most used: Minocycline and Doxycycline are very effective in treating acne, and are the first drugs i would use, coupled with topical benzoil peroxide. Blackheads are clogged pores and are the result of not thoroughly cleansing your face.  Otc preparations frequently have a scrubbing preparation containing peach or apricot pits that are micropulverized.

MINOCIN (minocycline) FOR ACNE: Minocin (minocycline) usually works very well for acne in boys and girls. However, there are many side effects that your doctor will tell you about.

Fractional Laser: Fractional laser can reduce the appearance of acne scars.  This should be performed by a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.

No OTC pill: I am going to assume that you have moderate to severe acne on the face and body and will assume you have used  as directed topical treatments for at least 6-8 weeks at a time.  If that is the case you will need to see a dermatiologist to consider oral medications starting with possibly oral antibiotics in combination with topical adapalene or tretinoin or consider oral isotretinoin treatment.

See a dermatologist: It sounds like your acne is severe enough to need oral antibiotics which are available only by prescription.
