acne like bumps behind ears and down neck, jawline. they get very inflamed, sore, and sometimes itchy. seem to spread quickly. is this just acne?

Acne: It is common for inflammatory acne to involve the jaw line in women.  A dermatologist can confirm the diagnosis and offer anti inflammatory medications where appropriate.

Acne: Acne on face and neck may be more related to razor irritation.  Consider an electric rotary shaver.

i dont know why my chin,  jawline and neck always itches after i shower or uses face wash i dont know if thats caused by minocycline a medication i took for pimples or is it the face wash that causes my skin to itch?

Dermatitis: If you are taking a medication, using a chemical body wash and having long hot dryers that can dry the skin, you have three possible obvious reasons for dry itchy skin.  Switch to a mild cleanser or mild soap and tepid showers.  Pat dry with cotton towels.  Think about your aftershave and other chemicals that touch your face.   Discuss the minocycline with your dermatologist.

With any: rash that appears suddenly and is not improving with natural treatments I recommend getting it examined.  Check with your doctor or a dermatologist for proper treatment!

mirena put in nov 18. pimples around chin/jawline and neck present since feb. what can i do? the mirena controls my endometriosis and heavy periods.

This is: likely from polycystic ovarian syndrome/insulin resistance (PCOS).  Increased androgen production. Testing can be done with your doctor. The Mirena is not the cause, it is helping as yu have noted. Endometriosis is made worse by PCOS, and the mirena is helping to counter that. Decreased simple carbs can help and medications from your doctor are possible.

That is common : Because people hold their chin up with their hands.  You need to stop that behavior or the acne will continue. Wash face w gentle cleanser 2x/day ; use oil free products. No oily hair or heavy foundations. Exfoliate occasionally. Try not to pop pimples. Avoid touching face (cradling chin in hands). Remove makeup before bed. Shower after strenuous exercise. Consider salicylic acid.R.

New cystic acne: This sounds more like a row of abscesses.  My advice is to see your doctor as you may need an antibiotic.  Lesions on the face require visualization to be correctly diagnosed.

Hard to say: If there is redness and bumps that are not pimples, you may be allergic to something you are using on the skin.  Try eliminating perfumes/dyes in lotions, soaps, and laundry detergent.  Using a good moisturizer that is free of perfumes/dyes can be helpful.  Even unrefined coconut oil can be helpful.  See your doctor if this continues to bother you.

Consult with your Dr: It is best to get a great diagnosis from your dermatologist first. There are many prescription and over the counter products to choose from. You may want to get a nice hypoallergenic cleanser like the skin clear wash from cosmo grade. Always consult with your dr. Or pharmacist prior to initiating new medications.

A few options: For over the counter methods try using products that have benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, alcohol, and acetone. For prescription treatments you may be prescribed antibiotics, retinoids or vitamin a derivatives, azelaic acid, oral contraceptives, or spironolactone. Always ask a dermatologist about the possible affects and the risks vs benefits of each treatment. Make sure it's best for you.
