This medicine may be used in combination with antibiotics to treat h pylori stomach infections and ulcers.

i have a very dry mouth. i have stopped all medications that can cause it , except lyrica 75 mg which i take at night to help me sleep. i just stopped aciphex. will my mouth ever stop being dry? i live where ragweed is, and am allergic to it, but stopped

Mouth breather?: Stuffy nose? If you are a mouth breather, especially at night, you will have a very uncomfortable dry mouth. Check with md to rule out other issues as well.

No worries w/Aciphex: There appear to be some interactions between your current meds: the Inderal may reduce the fish oil effect, and the Klonopin and Remeron combination may cause increased CNS depression (more sedation). However, adding Aciphex (rabeprazole) to the listed medications should not cause any problem.

4 years ago reflux started and lead to non h-pylori gastritis. quit smoking, i'm not overweight, and quit drinking. chronic gerd persists. take 20mg aciphex daily. i reflux drinking water. anything else i can add medication wise to help avoid cancer

See gastroenterology: Proton pump inhibitors do not stop working, but there may be other reasons for your heartburn to return.  You should see a gastroenterologist for an upper endoscopy to rule other causes of heartburn, such as hiatal hernia, esophageal spasm or achalasia, gastric ulcer, esophagitis, gastritis.  Also coronary artery disease can mimic GERD, but you are young for this.

A couple days: Aciphex/rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor: these drugs bind to an enzyme (proton pump) located on stomach parietal cells and block the production of hydrogen ions. So then the hydrogen ions can't combine with chloride ions to form gastric/stomach acid. This blockage/inhibition lasts about 48 hours after which new proton pumps are synthesized and resting proton pumps are reactivated. Stay well
