Flat shoe pain: There may be a number of reasons to why you are getting pain in your feet.  One of the most likely is that you are not getting enough arch support!  this occurs when the shoegear (or lack there of) does not stabilize/support your foot joints.  This allows you to overpronate and decrease your arch.  You can help prevent and improve this pain with good tennis shoes and a podiatry referral.

There : There are several possible explanations.  They can be narrowed down by considering the nature of the pain and when it occurs.

Pain that is present all the time, or that begins immediately after you stand up, suggests a musculoskeletal problem or arthritis. This is especially true if the pain is at the joints.

Pain that is crampy in nature, begins after you start walking and goes away when you stop and rest, or starts when you are lying down but gets better when you hang your legs off the bed suggests arterial blockage.

Itching, aching, or a sense of fullness in the legs that develops slowly over time when you're standing up and is relieved when you lie down or when you exercise suggests a problem with your venous system.

In addition to the history questions discussed above, there are some signs of each type of problem that your doctor can look for on a physical exam.  In some cases, x-rays or ultrasound studies might also be needed.

A lot on your plate: Having four children is quite a lot so that could explain a lot of your symptoms. However, make sure that there is no anemia or thyroid issue underlying. Are you sleeping enough?

i often have pain in my feet especially after walking.  i have tried various brands of tennis, walking or jogging shoes.   do you have any advice for what i can try to help my feet?

Orthotics : Sometimes if you have relatively flat feet, you can have issues even with new shoes, if the arches are not adequate.  You could try over the counter arch supports (Dr Scholl’s , etc) first &amp; consult a podiatrist if these do not help.

im 25 weeks pregnant and im getting period pain like pains. with aching feet and back. should i be worried? is there something i can take to relieve the pain? thanks

Normal: Unfortunately, small period like pains (Braxton Hicks contractions) and achy feet/back are all typical for late 2nd/3rd trimester of pregnancy.  Try resting with your feet up or lying on your side, warm compresses to back, acetominophen and maintain your level of exercise. See a Dr for increasing, steady contractions, any bleeding, swelling of feet accompanied by headache, or dizziness.

Could be: It could be osteoarthritis considering that it is at the end of the day, but it could be inflammatory such as rheumatoid in light of the swelling.

See below: Hashimotos can go through three phases, 1. uncommonly it may cause hyperthyroidism in an early phase of the disease, 2. followed by normal thyroid function and the 3. long phase of hypothyroidism. If you do not have thyroid deficiency and taking thyroid medication is unlikely to be helpful.

Neuromuscular issues: It sounds like you need a thorough work-up to make clear the cause of these symptoms.  Seeing a neurologist might be a good place to start - or if you have a bright family doctor who can at least get the 'ball rolling'.  There are different possibilities that come to mind including Lyme disease, vitamin B12 deficiency, MS, uncontrolled diabetes, heavy metal poisoning, and more -hope you get help.

A good evaluation.: Is this a new problem? Chronic? Were you on your feet a lot? Do you have low arches?
Any history of low back pain? Aching can be from overuse, burning can be a form of neuropathy. The 2 complaints may be related or unrelated which is why a good evaluation is in order. A nice foot massage can't hurt until you can see a podiatrist.
