Accutane and marijuana?

Accutane has been linked to severe depression and suicidality in some people.  Adding another drug that can leave you depressed to that one is not a good idea.  I'm sure some have combined these and will say they've had no problems, but i would still not recommend it.

What are the effects of the use of marijuana while taking accutane, i know your gonna say not to but i want to know the physical effects?

It'll make you giggle, gag and choke like it does everybody else. There's been no special problems reported either with acne or isotretinoin. You may have a bit of squamous metaplasia of your airways so you make choke on your toke a bit more than in the past. Drink plenty of fluids. I'm really glad your acne's being treated. Don't spend to much time being goofy & enjoy your new good health.

Ii have smoked marijuana 3 times while on accutane. i started my 2nd month of accutane (60mg) today. will the weed affect the way the accutane works?

Marijuana can interact with many medicines, though most of the interactions are mild consisting of "may increase side effects such as drowsiness and dizziness." 
There is no known interaction with accutane and it will not affect how it works.

How effective is marijuana as a painkilller?

Medical marijuana is legal in several states, and many pts are convinced of benefits in headaches and other pain syndromes.  Yet, research, to convincingly prove benefits in the treatment of pain, are lacking.  Therefore, we may be seeing merely placebo effects due to the effect on mood and behaviour.  Eventually, i suspect that organized medicine will rigorously evaluate this, but no proof so far.

Some people have a pleasant, calming, and mildly euphoric effect from smoking marijuana, similar to opioid "reward." this is what I have been told.  Others who have tried marijuana, do not use it again, due to lack of a high, pleasant effect, or calming.
