i get really bad reactions to mosquito bites. swell up to bullseyes, itchiness, long recovery time. is there a blood test for skeeter syndrome?

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

i just got bit several times by mosquitos. i noticed one bite on my leg has 3 dark lines coming out from it. it almost looks like veins but ive never seen it before. ive had reactions to mosquito bites before but havent seen this. whats going on?

: I'm not sure what the dark lines signify. A physician would have to inspect this to be sure. The lines could be some breakdown products of some bleeding that occurred under the skin from the bite.

Atlhough most people: Associate a mosquito bite with itching, it can be painful as well.  Here are some ideas. Store aloe vera gel in the refrigerator and apply to affected area.  Rub a basil leaf on the bite. It repels mosquitoes & has  anti-inflammatory properties effect.

Exam of skin: With any skin problems it is important for a physician to examine your skin. Possible problems include allergic reaction, bacterial infection, or insect bites. There is NO way to diagnose until you are examined. Please arrange a doctor's visit right away.

Yes: Bug bites can definitely lead to allergic responses.  If you are writing this question then we can logically assume that you didn't die from an allergic reaction, so don't sweat it.  Sleep apnea has nothing to do with bug bites.  It is an interruption of air flow during sleeping.

: That is one possibility! It could also be that the mosquito was bigger! Either way, icing the area will decrease the itching and applying calamine lotion will also decrease the itch. As you know, it goes away even without any treatment!

Something else?: Mosquito bites are sometime painful, usually itchy but really rare to not heal or get infection.  Could you have gotten bitten by another critter - especially a spider which can cause a non-healing sore place.  You might need this to be looked at.

how to remove mosquito bites?

Accepted Answer

Not possible: Although topical cortisone may work but would not work overnight.  Injecting the area with kenalog (triamcinolone) may, but it would be like swatting a fly with a hammer.
