Context: Is critical as well as dynamics. Isolated values cannot be interpreted in a meaningful way otherwise. The values you mention would not be acted upon unless clear indication clinical or non clinical of a trend. Your PCP has the best 360 view of your situation and should be involved in the conversation.

Need for evaluation: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking a history, physical examination, looking at the actual lab results and may be additional studies. Lab results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is in the best position to do that.

good evening doctors. if immunofixation blood test results indicate no monoclonal proteins were found, does this rule out renal multiple myeloma? does it rule out renal kidney amyloydosis?

i routinely have high urea nitrogen and bun/creatinine ratio blood test results. this combined with frequent peeing at night and puffy hands/face in the morning and occasionally during the day make me wonder if i have a kidney problem. ?

Maybe yes...: ...but the answer depends on the numbers. Certainly these symptoms could go along with significantly abnormal kidney function, but it's the actual BUN and creatinine numbers that tell the story. Ask another question that includes those lab test results, as well as calculated creatinine clearance, if that was reported with the creatinine result. Or just ask your doctor.

what do blood tests check for? i have a friend who has to get regular blood work done to check his kidneys and liver. im worried that theyre going to fin pot in his system. can that kind of blood test show pot?

See below : Routine blood tests do not look for pot. It is urine that is commonly the specimen for drug tests.  Even the lab will only do the test if specifically ordered by the doctor.

Quite possible: Thc is fat soluble, so it is detectable much longer than other drugs, most of which are water soluble.  If they do a drug screen as part of the tests, it may show up.

Plan B ?'s: "Morning after" pills are similar to birth control pills, and contain both estrogen and progesterone analogs, so a day or two later, bleeding may occur due to hormone withdrawal from the "Plan B" pills, but other blood testing is usually not affected.

: Well first of all, I don’t know what blood tests you are referring to. But either way, I doubt an acute emotional stressor would affect most lab tests then next day.

: No, usually not. Only a syphilis blood test can detect syphilis.
