Not enough data: Upper abdominal pain may come from the esophagus, stomach, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, and other organs.  Sometimes sugar could exacerbate gastritis or ulcers.  Your description is not enough to draw conclusions.  Any persistent abdominal pain of moderate to severe intensity should be evaluated in person by a physician.  Concerning symptoms include fever, nausea, vomiting, weight loss.

Ulcer pain??: The best thing would be that you have an ulcer. It is, and has been for a number of years, a treatable medical condition- with 2 antibiotics and an antacid for about 3 weeks. If that doesn't work see your doc to look for nastier things-I.e. Stomach cancer, et. al.

See a GI doctor: Cannot diagnose over the internet, but this sounds as if it should be possible to resolve quickly with a history, physical exam and possibly endoscopy and other tests.  Hope this gets better soon.  Best.

Ulcer and reflux: You may well have a peptic ulcer and reflux disease.  I recommend proceeding with an endoscopy and at the same time exclude an h pylori infection.

Celiac, gluten intol: Approximately 6 percent of patients are gluten sensitive. One percent of patients have celiac.  Gluten found in flour which makes bread can cause bloating and cramping in patients with celiac or gluten sensitvity. Your doctor can do tests like blood work and endoscopy to check for this.

Many possibilities: Upper abdominal pain can be from acid pains, such as a stomach ulcer, just gastritis with no ulcer, or reflux (heartburn). Sometimes there is an ulcer in the first part of the small intestine. An infection with H. pylori bacteria can lead to stomach pains. Needs more evaluation, by one's doctor. Pancreatitis, gallstones, liver or spleen disorders, or various cancers can also cause tummy symptoms.

If you are: taking medications, you might be allergic to one of them.  Sugar by itself does not do much unless much higher

Abdominal Pain: is the pain only with eating chocolate or with other types of food like spicy, fatty? does increase with lying flat? if yes then most probably you have a problem with your gastroesophageal junction and/or increase stomach acid secretion. try over the counter antacids they might help.

: Your pain may be due to gas trapped in the intestine and the change in posture may have helped in moving the gas.
