a few weeks ago a snowboard fell on my shin. now there is a dent on the bone. will it eventually heal so it would be safe to train martial arts?

Dent in shin: It may take from three to six weeks to heal a fracture with a callous formation. If you don't have pain prognosis is good. X rays help to assure that the fracture has healed. An orthopedic or sports injury physician should clear you to start martial arts. If you have no pain or range of motion abnormalities you may protect yourself with some soft elastic brace to support your soft tissue.

after a hard impact (martial arts) my shin bone seems to have been chipped. the area is now all mushy, how long before it is replaced with hard bone?

Contusion: It is more likely that you have a hematoma (collection of blood after an injury). The shin area is very commonly involved since there is a small amount of flesh between the skin and the bone. It will resolve in a month or 2.

If you think you have a bone chip get it x-rayed .

Contusion: It sounds as if the snowboard left a soft tissue defect below the skin.  The amount of trauma from a snowboard landing on your tibia or shin would most likely not cause a fracture.  If there were a fracture of the tibia, it would be extremely painful and difficult to bear weight at all.  It is safe to resume mma, but if pain in the area develops, back off of activity and get an xray.

Anterior shin mass: Consider hematoma, stress fracture, or periostitis.

X-ray: It sounds like you need to see your doctor.  He may want to shoot an x-ray or two.

Lump: A lump secondary to trauma that is mobile is unlikely connected to bone. There has likely been damage to the tissue just under the skin, called subcutaneous fat. It often takes weeks for this to resolve. All the best.

See your doctor: These symptoms can only be adequately worked up by your doctor.  He/she will listen to you, perform an examination, perhaps orders some tests to find out what's wrong.

The fall: may have caused a fracture and fluid build up at the site of injury, He needs to see a Pediatric Orthopedic surgeon!

i fell over playing netball in april, i had no swelling but a lot of pain in the bone of my inside ankle. this still hurts to touch in august and now im having an uncomfortable numbness/tingling in my lower leg any ideas?

Tendinosis: On the medial or inside of you ankle there are three tendons which go to the underside of your foot which can get injury. Possible occult fracture to the bone. I would recommend and evaluation since it has been since April and you are still having problems.
