i am 6 weeks pregnant according to my lmp edd but ultrasound scan shows only 3 weeks. is it normal?

GOw/ultrasound but..: At this early stage of pregnancy the ultra-sound is very accurate at predicting due date (edc) +/- 5-7 days .  However '3 weeks pregnancy' is still too early to tell much so i would recommend another ultrasound in 3 weeks (@ 6 weeks to document fetal heart tones).  The edc needs to be confirmed. ????: What was the first day of your last period?  Or,   what is the date that you are 6 weeks pregnant?  You can figure out for yourself.  Pregnancy is 40 weeks long.  If you know when you are 6 weeks pregnant, you have 34 weeks to go.  Count it out.  Remember it can vary 10-14 days   either way.

It depends: It depends on what was measured and when.  Very early,  the sac diameter is accurate to ±5 to 7 days. Later, a measurement called the 'Crown-Rump-Length' at 7 to 10 weeks of gestation is the accurate to ±3 days.   After 10 weeks, the accuracy of the CRL falls slightly with a margin of error of ±5 days at 10 to 14 weeks.

i had a early scan they said i was about 6 weeks pregnant,  could this possibly be out by about 10 days because it doesn't work out with my dates.?

Probably not: Early first trimester scans are very accurate (usually within a day or two) for dating pregnancies.  Keep in mind that if an ultrasound says you are 6 weeks 0 days, that means the conception occurred approximately 4 weeeks 0 days ago assuming a 28 day cycle and ovulation on day 14.  6 weeks should correlate with the first day of the last menstrual period, not the conception event.

is 1,327 a good hcg level for 5-6 weeks pregnant? not sure on ovulation date, lmp was 12/11 and first positive test was 1/11. 2 previous miscarriages, i am 29. i have to wait to get second betas done, but looking for guidance in meantime?

Different ultrasound: at 6 week gestation, your developing baby would be no larger than a pencil eraser and could easily be missed on a transabdominal ultrasound which depends on the skill of the of the ultrasonographer.  Performing a transvaginal ultrasound would be another option.  Waiting and repeating the transabdominal may be a good option as well, and your obstetrician should be able to help guide the choice.

Early: A pregnancy test will be positive as early as 1 day after a missed period. A transvaginal untrasound can detect a fetal heartbeat with very high accuracy as early as 6- 7 weeks. If your dates are off and you are actually less than 6 weeks pregnant, it is possible that the heartbeat will not be detected until next week.
