Blood Banks defer potential donors for one year from the time of exposure. For all practical purposes if the nucleic acid test is negative at 6 months after exposure the person is free of HIV. 4th gen HIV tests...: ...are 100% conclusive any time 4 weeks or more after exposure. There is no basis for continuing to be frightened you have HIV.  Assuming you haven't been reexposed more recently, your 6 week result was conclusive and your 19 week test unnecessary. Stop testing and do your best to move on without worry. Also test for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis if not done, much higher risk than HIV.

: No data exist on time to conclusive HIV testing after PEP. In absence of data, various experts have different judgments. Most agree 6 weeks is sufficient. Even those who recommend 3 months often believe 6 weeks is OK, but without clear data, they like providing a margin of safety in their advice. But most have never had a patient negative at 6 weeks with later turned out to be infected.

HIV: Antibody testing should be repeated at 3 mos and many will test again at 6 mos. If you need definitive response before then you can ask for a pcr for viral rna.  If that is negative you are negative. But that is expensive.

Yes and no: Its conclusive for now..but your not done.  Tests like this that measure antibodies have to be repeated up to 6 months to ensure 99% that your in the clear.

: Combo tests, NAT, antigen ,antibody and rapid antigen- antibody can detect HIV in 10 - 90 days. If you are still worried, than take one more test at 13 weeks, and if negative as before, than you will be fine. In future don't put yourself at risk, so you have to test, ,practice safe sex.

: Yes, conclusive. Many doctors don't understand the difference between older and newer (AgAb, duo, combo) HIV tests; and others just take a hyper-conservative stance.
