Unusual: Pain at this stage postop would be considered unusual and a sign of a problem.  Many potential causes, including scar tissue, weakness, stiffness, persistent meniscal pathology, cartilage damage, non-healing graft, or, in the case of allograft, graft rejection.  Make sure your surgeon and/or therapist knows the details of your pain. If answers not adequate, then seek second opinion.

Knee instability: Depending on how long you were immobilized after surgery, you may have weakness in the affected limb/knee and should be going to or have gone for Physical Therapy.  If it is still unstable, have a repeat MRI to make sure the surgery was performed properly and that the ligament has healed properly.

ACL swelling: Overuse, infection, arthritis, synovitis, possible graft failure or impingement, loose bodies, meniscal tears.

Depends: Every patient is different, and your ability to jog needs to be evaluated based upon your pre-surgery level, your quad function before and after surgery, and your rehab after surgery. Typically, the quad muscles are working well enough by 4 months to allow jogging, but again, this is individual. I typically don't allow running until 4 months after surgery, so you may be right where you should be.

Yes: All scars take up to a year for final healing. This does not mean you must be uncomfortable during this time. Please see your doctor again and ask for some medication or physical therapy.

Yes!!!: You should be walking the day after your acl surgery.  The best outcomes come with starting an advanced rehab protocol which focuses on regain full range of motion early and then strength.

Acl failure: Acl graft can fail for many reasons. Usually it's a repeat injury. Other reasons can be discussed with an orthopedic surgeon.

then again you tore the one you were born with and you can tear a graft.

Stable knee: An acl reconstruction that heals well should provide you with a stable knee. Other variables such as the status of your knee joint cartilage and especially the status of your medial and lateral menisci also weigh heavily in determining your final degree of functional painfree recovery. Immediately postoperatively, you will have mild to moderate pain and swelling relieved by oral pain meds.

Multiple options: ACL's are most commonly reconstructed today. There has not been a lot of success with repairing the torn ligament. Most commonly reconstructions are done arthroscopically although there are still people doing open ACL reconstructions.  The most common varying factor is the type of graft used. The three most common grafts used are hamstring tendons, patella tendons, or donor grafts.
