Itch groin: Try putting her in the tub with warm water, no soap or bubbles and let her soak for about 15 minutes.  Do this twice a day and it should stop her symptoms.

my 5 year old son has strep. took amoxicillin (sp) and after he peed his penis hurts severily. whats going on? callin doc in morning. hes terrified.

URETHRITIS: His urethra can be infected that is the reason why it hurts when he urinates. It might respond to the current rx of Amoxil (amoxicillin) or get his urine for exams.

my 12 yr. old son also had his appendix rupture and it was removed. two weeks later he is still in pain, says it hurts to pee (doesnt burn) and hurts ?

Post-op? : Could be post operative, post peritonitis symptoms.  Or there could be other problems.  Please consult the surgeon who performed the surgery for follow-up.

In time he'll change: In early childhood kids often want to do what they did yesterday rather than trying something new. Change can generate anxiety & its hard for adults to understand why it would. In time, dad can model the behavior or his friends at daycare will provide the peer pressure needed for him to change. Give it time and be comforting, he needs you to be an anchor even when he seems to hold back.

Any : Any blood in the urine (called hematuria) is abnormal and your son should be evaluated by a doctor.  There are hundreds of causes for blood in the urine - some of which are mild, some of which can be life-threatening.  The amount of blood in the urine does not correlate to the severity of the problem, so even a little blood should be looked into by a doctor.  Good luck!

my 2.5 year old son skin round his toe nails is peeling off and always have sweaty feet, he also drinks lots of water and pee a lot, what can it be?

2 different issues: The peeling skin is probably the result of the sweaty feet and a condition called dyshydrotic eczema.  I treat this with moisturizing skin creams and "air time". The skin needs to be moist but able to breath.  With shoes, cotton socks need to be worn to absorb excess moisture.  The drinking and peeing is more likely behavioral than anything else, but a quick urine test will do more to reassure you.

i am 16 years old and i had sex with my boyfriend 2 days ago and now it hurts to pee and when i wipe this yellow stuff comes off? could i be pregnant?

Infection, not preg: It is too soon to determine pregnancy, but burning with urination sounds like a urinary tract infection, but the discharge suggests a vaginal infection, consistent with sexually transmitted infection.  Please see a doctor and get checked out.

Many questions: The trouble with treating children is that they can't always communicate with us what's wrong! i would want to know: is this a new change for your child? Is he growing and gaining normally, and is he as active as he normally is? Sometimes children vary a lot in what they eat from day to day. Weak urine stream: A weak urinary stream need to be evaluated by a pediatric urologist, a voiding cystourethrogram need to be done to check for narrowing or any form of obstruction.  So please see your pediatrician  &amp;  request  a referral to a pediatric  urologist. Good luck.

Phosphate crystals?: The usual cause of cloudy urine is phosphate crystals, which are normal, simply the result of fluid intake and diet. It's not harmful in any way. You can test this by adding a few drops of acid (e.g. vinegar) to a urine sample. If phosphate crystals, the urine will turn crystal clear. In other words, no worries! But discuss with your son's pediatrician if you remain concerned.
