Amenorrhea: get a pregnancy test. Sometimes after an abortion, your cycles may be irregular for several months. If you are protected, it is doubtful that you are pregnant.

See Obgyn: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Take a test : Don't guess. Take a test. In today's world you do not need to wonder if you are pregnant or not based on symptoms. Pregnancy tests are available at any pharmacy and in minutes you will have your answer. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.

Continue with BCP: Bleeding you are describing could be a light period. Continue taking bcp. Don't miss any and hopefully you would start getting regular period. If not please be seen.

Pregnant?: Are you using contraception? Your period could stay out for 4-6 weeks after an abortion especially a d/c. If you have pain and discharge; see your doc! you can resume intercourse 2 weeks after a d/c but should use condoms/contraception? Please do a pregnancy test and see your doctor. Also please start a prenatal vitamin if this is a possible desired pregnancy.

Too Early...: 3 weeks could be a bit early for a real period after a surgical abortion.  It can take 4-8 weeks for your periods to come back.  I wouldn't worry too much if you haven't had one yet.  Keep an eye on the cramping.  If it gets worse, you should be evaluated.  Best wishes!

A few things: Unlikely that you're pregnant again, but i would check a home pregnancy test to be sure.  If negative, then it's normal to have no period following surgical abortion for 5 weeks.  I typically tell pts their period will come 3-6 weeks following abortion.  You can consider birth control pills to regulate cycle if that's a concern. Otherwise, give it a little more time for period to come.
