Probably okay: This is a large dose of folic acid;  however, someone must have prescribed this amount.  I assume you either have a suspension or that you are crushing the pills and sprinkling over applesauce or something similar.  Depending on what her fetal hemoglobin is and what her blood counts are.  She may benefit from hydroxyurea.  Ask your hematologist.  Good luck.

Se details: Elevated liver tests suggest Methotrexate toxicity. The only treatment is to reduce the dose of methotrexate. The use of leucovorin the day after the Methotrexate may also help if the Methotrexate dose cannot be reduced. Speak with your doctor.

It is excessive: For the prevention of neural tube (and maybe other birth) defects, 400 micrograms of Folic Acid is recommended. For individuals with a history of having an affected child, we often recommend 4milligrams (10x the usual dose.) the dose you are taking is more than recommended, but will likely not be harmful, since it is water soluble and the excess will likely be excreted.

Why?: why are you taking so much? in pregnancy the recomnended dose is 0.8mg, and in alcoholic treatment, 1mg. most people only need 0.4mg a day. Taking more than you need is not likely to be harmful in case of a B vitamin since it is just going to be excreted in urine, but why spend the money?

Sure: Most prenatal vitamins have abut 1 mg of Folic acid. You could get your folic acid just by taking a prenatal vitamin. It is ok to take 5 mg tablets. I am not sure what doses are available in Singapore but 1 mg tablets are more common in the US.

Psoriatic artropathy: You should always take folic acid when on methotrexate.
