Water: A water or saline rinse might be better. Peroxyl can actually damage healing cells.

No: Don't even try it, you might end up with serious life threatening damage.

Your : Your child should spit out any excessive tooth paste after brushing to limit ingestion.  Do not refill the toothpaste while brusing and limit the tooth paste to approximately the size of a pea. Topical fluorides, such as toothpastes, are a very effective method of clinical remineralization early onset decay.

After a few days: If there is no bleeding, discharge, foul taste, excessive pain not controlled by the medication you were prescribed you can stop salt water rinses after a few days. If you have any of the above mentioned symptoms, call your surgeon.

There : There are other issues that can cause this.  There is a thought that some vitamin and mineral deficiencies can cause mouth pain.  There is actually a condition called "burning mouth syndrome" that can cause these symptoms.  Be sure you are eating a healthy diet with and consider a vitamin supplement, but as this has been persistent it would be reasonable to have blood work and further medical evaluation.

Peroxyl ingestion: Peroxyl (1.5% hydrogen peroxide antiseptic original mint) is made to be put into your mouth. With any intra-oral application it is always expected that some will go down your digestive tract. There is no need to worry about grandma getting sick.

Up to one week: Each extraction may require differnt post op care but in general you should rinse till you feel like no food is laying in the extraction site after eating. In general 5 to 7 days is good.
