Get checked: At this stage of pregnancy these symptoms could be sign of labor or a worrisome problem like fetal distress due to any reason like dehydration or cord around baby's neck or early separation of placenta. It is best to see your OB doc and get checked to make sure baby is okay.

Softening Pelvis: Your  pelvic joints are softening & shifting to allow your baby to move through the birth canal. It is actually pretty common to have pain this late in the pregnancy. You can use a full body pillow when lying down to support your pelvis. Try not to be on your feet all day. You are almost there- the joy of your new baby will make all this worth it.

my wife is 38 weeks pregnant on monday, she is currently in back pain, unable to sit and the baby movement has dropped drastically

she is also going to the toilet evry 5 minutes for over three hours now,

please advise?

Get seen!: Sounds like she might be in labor.  Go to the hospital delivery unit. Drive safely!  Wear a mask!

Usually positional: At this point, you are ready to have your baby and the pain may be related to the baby pressing or lying against certain spinal structures . You may need to adjust how tou position yourself until delivery.

Yes: It is always possible to be pregnant unless you are no having Intercourse.  However it is unlikely you are symptomatic from sex 6 days ago.

Call you OB: Passing the mucus plug doesn't mean a whole lot, but a lot of women assume they are passing mucus plug and instead its meconium stained fluid. Call your OB/midwife and tell them you've been leaking something and may be having early labor.  You probably need to be placed on the monitor to check for labor and examined to see if its fluid and to see if cervix dilated.  Call this morning!

Could be: If u were my pt and your cervix was that ripe i would induce you exactly at 39 weeks if u do not go into labor before then the ideal time to deliver is 39-40 weeks, please discuss with your ob.
