Aspiration : Choking may indicate that the baby is feeding to quickly and she should be fed at an angle of at least 30 degrees.
If she has a cough, please see your Pediatrician.

my wife just took sumatriptan for a migraine. we have a 2-month old. is it safe to breastfeed?

BREASTFEEDING: Any rx intake is pass to the baby by breast feeding. I suggest giving formula for now while mom is sick.

i breastfeed my 2 month old baby only on demand.will this reduce my milk supply.do i need to keep a feeding schedule?

Accepted Answer

: Milk supply is maintained by utilization. Schedules are good to push an increase until the milk is in but then you let baby control the system. There will likely be days they feed more or less often as growth often comes in spurts. Spurts push more frequent feeds. Feeding for more than ten minutes/side decreases recovery time &amp; adds only a trickle of feed.

it doesn't hurt to pee or wipe but it hurts. at times i don't have any pain other times it really hurts. i do have a 2 month old baby and breastfeed ?

GYN: I would suggest a GYN pelvic exam and urine analysis and culture.

i had some shrimp tacos and now i'm itchy. took some loratadine, can i still breastfeed my 2 month old baby if i get an allergic reaction?

No contraindication: Okay to continue breastfeeding.  Loratadine also safe to use during breastfeeding.

my 3 1/2 month old breast feed baby is not pooping for 4 days now, but seems ok.  i'm worried about what's causing it?

Don't worry: Some babies poop 5-6 times daily at this age, others poop once every 7-10 days.  Both, and everything in between is normal.  Provided they are eating well, not vomiting consistently, not developing a distended abdomen, urinating 5-6 times daily, otherwise acting normally, and the stool is not hard....This is nothing to worry about.  If unsure, ask your pediatrician.

Don't worry: Make sure your nipples are clean and healthy. Besure not to leave soap residue, sometimes baby tastes something in your milk  and is turned off.  Try pumping and putting it in a bottle to see if he will take your milk that way.   
Check to make sure you are not eating things that change the taste of your milk, ie spicy foods, .

18 years old breast feed a 2 month old i feel soreness on the bottom of my right breast but i also get these really sharp pains throughout my breast?

Breast pain: Thanks for breast feeding your new baby -it is the best way to start life. Your pain could be a number of things - from simple, stretching pains due to the milk production, to milk ducts contracting to empty, to more serious things like infection. If your breast is red or hot, or you feel sick or fever, then you need to be seen. Otherwise, nurse frequently to empty breast, warm shower and massage.

i am experiencing uti pain and i cannot make it to a clinic until the morning. i purchased azo maximum strength but i have a 2 month old baby who is breastfeeding. how long do i have to wait to breastfeed him after a take this medication?

: Unless you has history of G6PD, you can take azo when breasfeeding a 2-month-old boy. Boy's urine may change to orange color too if he absorbs enough azo from your milk.

my 2 month old female baby dnt sleep at all only from day to night she sleeps 6 hours how can i solve this problem plz? and when i gave her breast feed she dnt drink and crying during breastfeeding but on formula milk she doesnt have any problems?

Amount feeding: This may indicate that there is not enough milk production and that she is still hungry after nursing.  Discuss a lactation consultation and offer the bottle feeding after nursing. 
Ensure that she does not need a diaper change , nasal congestion or other illness.
