Antifungal meds: There are over the counter yeast medications such as Monistat that can help.    There are also prescription creams that help treat a broader spectrum of yeast (there are more than one strain that can cause infection), or the Diflucan (fluconazole) pill.

Second infection...: Likely, you are referring to a seocndary infection that occurs  after treatment has been initated for an infection such as a urinarybtract infection. The treatment usually involves antibiotics that disrupt the normal balance of bacteria in your vagina, causing a change in the ph of the environment  that allows yeast to grow. A dose of Fluconazole should do the trick (drug is by prescription only).

: This is a much more common problem than you might think! Approaches vary, mine is to treat both at the same time with a combination of metronidazole and fluconazole. Prevention is key. Probiotics can be helpful, but I find wearing breathable, cotton underwear, good hygiene, and be careful with scented soaps, lubricants, chemicals or other irritants most helpful. Always important to get checked!
