Too soon to test: Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within day or so of the sex. However, it takes about two weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

The US agree: Both ultrasounds are in close enough agreement, US is not accurate to the day. Extremely strong odds you conceived form sex 4/16 based on both ultrasounds - definitely not from sex on 4/3.

Accurate: The date of conception would be August 17 plus or minus 4 days.  An ultrasound at 5 weeks and 4 days is accurate to within 4 days.

i am advised to take regestrone tab for 15 days from my 12 th day of cycle. does this help in conception?

No but: It sounds like your doctor wants you to have a "prepared" uterus.......if conception occurs...ASK YOUR PRESCRIBER!

lp was dec30-jan13. dd nov6. conception calculator says feb7-13 was sex leading to conception. not possible. just curious if u/s can be off a few days?

Yes it can: When (date) and "how far along were you" (gestational age) when the US for dating was done? Ultrasounds in the second trimester can be off by as much as a week in either direction, third trimester US can be off by even more. First trimester (1st twelve weeks) should be correct +/- 3 days, I hope this helps.

Good dates: Best dating criteria for determining gestational age is your LMP. Weeks are by convenient counted starting from the first day of the LMP, and the expected date of delivery is 40 weeks after the first day of the LMP. This same convenient is used when gestational age is estimated by ultrasound, but ultrasound (US) can not estimate gestational age exactly and dates within 3 days is very close.

That is possible: An early pregnancy test may detect pregnancy up to 6 days prior to your anticipated period. When using a regular home pregnancy test - suggest using it if / when you miss a period.

Sex on time: Sperm can live in a woman's body for up to four days. Therefore, a couple trying to make a baby should start having sex four days prior to ovulation. The debate is whether to have sex every day or every other day. I believe the best answer to this is every day if possible, every other day is probably just as good. You should continue having sex for up until a few days after ovulation. Good luck!
