See doctor: See the doctor and see if there is a reason for the crying, like an ear infection or sore throat.  If not, then it could be dreaming.  I think you should have the possibility of an infection ruled out first.

my husband just elbowed my 1 year old in the face. hard. he turned really fast. my son started crying but then went back to sleep. is he okay??

Almost certainly : Children cry for lots of reasons. The fact that your child cried right away implies that he didn't lose consciousness. If he has no purplish discoloration over the course of the next few hours then I wouldn't worry. If when he awakens he is really irritable and you can't calm him down I would have him see his doc.

i gave my 1 year old 12.5mg panamor suppository to break a fever, he fell asleep and woke up an hour later crying and won't stop. can it be the panamor or a side effect from it? he didn't react like this the last time he had panamor...

Hard to say: kids are not fond of rectal suppositories. You may want to try flavored syrup. When in doubt have child examined by a pediatrician.

No: Avoid using melatonin in a child so young.  Focus instead on good sleep hygiene.  If he is taking two daytime naps, drop the nap later in the day.

See the doctor: It's hard to tell what a rash might be without seeing it. It could be dry skin, an irritation from something, a virus, insect bites, all sorts of things. See your child's doctor.

If at all possible, it might be a good time to help him learn to sleep in his own bed. The longer you wait, it may be more difficult to change his habits.

Give him a blanket that you cuddle him with. F.  Put him in bed at the same time.  G. Let him fuss a bit to find a sleep position. H. Respond to night calls slower and with a set wait time.  I.  Be patient it does go away.

Hard to say: Does he waken if you touch him lightly ? If so it's a nightmare. If not, it's likely a night terror, a sleep disturbance similar to sleep walking that occurs in some kids.Most affected kids have poor sleep habits &amp; are sleep deprived. It triggers in the 1st hours of sleep. Creating a relaxing sleep pattern that allows them to move slowly into sleep &amp; get more sleep/night usually corrects this

If you haven't: already done so, take him/her to his/her pediatrician to make sure that nothing physical is wrong (ear infection/teething). If you've done that already, then it would be important to not have him/her continue this habit. A one year old should be able to eat enough during the day and not need to eat in the middle of the night. So hopefully, this is just temporary,&amp; could be a growth spurt.
