Neck biopsy

Neck biopsy

The neck contains many structures, so a "neck" biopsy is vague. However, you can sample the tissues or organs in the neck by many techniques: shave biopsy (skin), fine needle aspiration (small needle stuck into the area of interest), core needle biopsy (larger needle to get tissue for evaluation), open biopsy (incision in the skin and more tissue removed), and an excisional biopsy (all tissue).
