Loop electrosurgical excision procedure
This is a procedure done to remove a part of the cervix that is abnormal. Pts have leeps once they have had an abnormal pap smear and further evaluation warranted a leep to remove tissue off the cervix. This is both a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure. Its cuts the bad part out and it helps heal whatever other tissue is affected by hpv. Hope this helps!
