Csection with hysterectomy
Cesarean hysterectomy is a procedure where the uterus is removed at the time of c-section. This is sometimes planned when there is a condition such as a placenta accreta diagnosed before delivery but is usually an unplanned procedure when there is significant bleeding that is not able to be stopped using more conservative methods first. It is very rare that this procedure is performed. After a c-section, you will stay at least one extra day in the hospital to help your recovery. Keep the abdominal wound clean and perform the dressing changes as advised by your doctor. Most women are able to nurse their babies during this period.
