Drusen
Drusen are small yellow or white deposits of material that build up between the retina and the retinal pigment epithelium of the eye (beneath the retina). It is normal for people to have some drusen in the eye, usually after age 40. Drusen in the macula increase the risk for age-related macular degeneration, especially when they are large in size and number and with indistinct margins (fluffy).
