Deposit under retina: Drusen are small yellow or white deposits of material that build up between the retina and the retinal pigment epithelium of the eye (beneath the retina). It is normal for people to have some drusen in the eye, usually after age 40. Difference is.....: Drusen are yellow deposits under the retina made up of lipids, a fatty protein. Having drusen increases a person's risk of developing age-related macular degeneration. Exudate is a fluid composed of serum, fibrin, and white blood cells that escapes from blood vessels into the surrounding tissue as the result of inflammation. It can occur anywhere in the body but most commonly on the skin.
