Baby-proofing your home involves going through your home and reducing hazards to a baby. This should be done routinely as the baby develops and different safety needs arise. For example: a newborn should not have pillows or blankets in the crib, and consider placing a rug below the crib or changing table to soften the landing in case of a fall. As the baby gets older, tasks such as securing cabinets and plugging electrical outlets become important. Be sure to place all your cleaning products behind locked cabinets and away from your crawling baby.
