A craniopharyngioma is embryonic remnant tissue that can form a tumor in/around the pituitary. Although not malignant, it is a mass and can cause headaches, visual defects, and disrupt pituitary hormones, either by stimulating them, or decreasing them, and thus there are many different hormone disorders incld diabetes insipidus. Dx is by MRI or ct. It is usually successfully removed surgically.
