Hypomania is a state of mind characterized by sustained, elevated, expansive or irritable mood, plus unusually and persistently increased activity for most of the day over at least four days. The degree is less than full mania. The person is easily distractible, yet may be driven to accomplish many goals. Thoughts are rapid; speech can be pressured. May get by on little sleep. No psychosis.
