Round ligament pain: Can be as you describe. As the uterus quickly enlarges it pulls on those ligaments causing sharp pains. The ovaries can move from their normal place in the pelvis which can also cause sharp pains. However, a tubal pregnancy will also cause sharp pains and can become life threatening! if you have not had an ultrasound, they should look at where the pregnancy is located.
